Roy has been studying the martial arts, specifically American Kenpo, for the better part of a decade. In that time, he has earned his 1st Degree Black Belt (Junior Instructor of the Arts) and has been preparing for the test to earn his 2nd Degree Black Belt (Associate Instructor of the Arts) in February 2010. Roy's 16-year-old son, Taylor, has also been studying Kenpo and is currently a Senior Red/Black Belt. In the AIK system, a student may not test for a Senior-level Black Belt unless he or she is over the age of sixteen! Taylor has earned the privilege of testing for his 1st Degree Senior Black Belt in February 2010, right beside his father.
